I had not heard about this policy and of course the guard did not even mention it. Seeing the above stories tells the procedure is not properly in place yet. Many guard don't know, won't help. Does the gate have a daily sheet of who's playing poppy? What about your group being in another name. I don't think this is a benefit a all. It still has many problems. I played two years. Thank you. We did go back about two weeks later. We did have a tee time at Poppy Hills. The gate person insisted we pay. We drove through without paying after tempers were fueling in cars behind us. So, we didn't pay, but it wasn't the conventional method. The next day we played Peter Hay and got the fee reimbursed. Vindicated indeed! Yes. Thank you. We did go back about two weeks later. We were there 8/23/08 and had to pay. We were told that we could the get it back through the course, but the course was closed (Peter Hay). Told to write to the address on the brochure. There's no address on the brochure. After talking to 5 different people on the phone, I am still trying to get our money back. Will let you know what happens. This is not applicable anymore. There were times (in the past)when I would bring between 70 and 140 golfers in on chartered busses and was charged the fee for each player! Needless to say, that was ridiculous. As soon as I feel confident my nearly 15,800 CA members and I will not run into the same problem as Butch (above), we'll start booking tournaments at Poppy Hills again.
