I work on the weekends. Are there any single tournamnets for NCGA on the weekdays? I want to take my game to the next level, but it seems like everything is on the weekends.

I am playing in the East Sacramento Zone tourney March 31-April 1. Are there plans to have some tee time available at Poppy Hills for a practice round Sunday March 30th prior to the tournament? If so how do I register my team for one of those times?
Thank you.

Michael,
The schedule of 2008 NCGA Handicap Certifition Seminars will be forwarded to all clubs in late February. A copy of the 2008-2011 NCGA Handicap Manual will be included in the mailing. The bottom line on Certification is that credit from 2002-2007 will be carried over to 2008 so long as the individual that completed the seminar is still with the club. At some point in the 2008-2011 time period, each club will need to send someone again (or complete an NCGA on-line seminar that will be completed by late spring). Again, it doesn't have to be accomplished in 2008, just within the 2008-2011 time period. Thanks again. Jim Cowan

Have the dates for the NCGA Handicap Certification Seminars been set yet? When can we expect to see the dates being announced.

Thank you,

Lynette,

Online registration for NCGA events opens January 14th at 8 AM. The registration link will be active at that point and can be found under "Tournament Registration" on our homepage.

How about a column that indicates when registration opens? There are some events that this is especially critical as the fill up fast. Is there somewhere on the web that I can find the open registration dates?

Al,

The best answer is that is just the way it is. Most amateur associations start their senior division at age 55 while the Champions Tour starts at age 50.
Don, the Sacramento Zone Championship is March 24 & 25.
Rob, the Maxfli is April 14-15 at Rancho Murieta.

When is the date for the Maxfli Champions event (in the Sacramento area)? Last year it was April 16/17, but don't see anything listed yet.
Thanks.

As a 56-year-old, who competed reasonably well in this year's US MidAm, I see no down-side in giving the over 54's a shot at qualifying for the NCGA Masters. Like Jim Knoll, I feel if you're good enough to qualify, why not?
