2008 Northern California Women’s Four-Ball Championship

LIVERMORE – Competition in three flights produced three winning duos in the annual Northern California Women’s Four-Ball Championship held at Poppy Ridge.  The event united female competitors from three associations in the region – the Northern California Golf Association, the Women’s Golf Association of Northern California and the Pacific Women’s Golf Association.

In the Merlot flight, Stacey Baba and Sue Stryker captured the championship, firing a net 17-under-par 127. Two strokes back the runner-up duo of Chris Burdick and Nicole Barger finished at 129, while Teri Neidigh and Terry Mayes nabbed third.

Linda Rindt and Shan Bai triumphed in the Zinfandel flight, carding a net 22-under-par 122. The pair captured the flight by three strokes over runners-up Bridget Albosta and Donna Grover.  Meanwhile, Ann Pons and Hope Righetti posted a net 127 to secure third place.

In the Chardonnay flight, Michele Gunner and teammate Susan Bogar claimed victory with a 23-under-par 121.  Diane Hobaugh and Kristi Bronk finished just two strokes back in second, while Elaine Casey and Evon Rieden gained third-place honors with 126.
