Two-Day Instructional Golf Clinic at Poppy Hills

Poppy Hills has created a two-day instruction program that includes on-course instruction at both Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.

Sunday, 6:00-7:30 pm - Welcome reception at Poppy Hills Clubhouse, Cocktails & Hors D’oeurves 
Mon–Tues, 7:15-8:00 am - Full American Breakfast at Poppy Hills Clubhouse 
Monday, 8:30-12:00 - Full Swing & Short Game (chipping & putting)
Tuesday, 8:30-12:00 - Full Swing & Short Game (pitching & bunker)
Mon-Tues, 12:00-1:30 - Lunch on the Clubhouse Deck 
Mon-Tues, 3:00-5:15 - Nine Hole Playing Lesson; Course Management
(With option to finish 18 holes) @ Spyglass Hill & Poppy Hills

Lodging

Discounted rates are available at the beautiful Monterey Plaza Hotel on historic Cannery Row. Prices include valet parking, wireless Internet access and use of the spa facilities.
Inland Rooms @ $245.00 per night
Ocean Rooms @ $355.00 per night

Mental/Physical/Nutrition

What separates this package? Besides terrific instruction on championship venues, one of the special features of this package is a mental approach to improving your game and a physical evaluation to identify any limitations affecting your swing by a certified golf fitness specialist. The specialist will also recommend a complete exercise program to get you in top golf shape. Lastly, we will recommend a nutritional program that is bet suited for the golfer.

Custom Club Fitting

We will give you a complete club fitting analysis and evaluate if your equipment optimizes your performance.

Merchandise includes: Poppy Hills custom leather portfolio with personalized instructor notes, Poppy Hills logo hat, towel and one dozen golf balls.

The package includes all of the above: instruction, video analysis, golf fees, and custom Poppy Hills merchandise package, club fitting, mental and physical evaluation and food and beverage items (welcome reception on Sunday, full American breakfast, lunch and snacks each day). 

Fees

NCGA Members =$1495 per person.  
Non-Members= $1995 per person.
If additional players enroll, the price is adjusted.  The maximum student-to-teacher ratio is 4:1.

About the Instructor:

IMG_7352.jpgPatrick Parrish came to Poppy Hills from a long lineage of golfers. His grandfather built and owned a golf course where Patrick checked in golfers and changed sprinklers as a youngster. In the late 70s and early 80s he coordinated the Golf Digest schools for Jim Flick along with Tom Ness and Jack Lumpkin.

In the 80s he played on the Nike and Asian Tours after participating on the UCLA golf team with Corey Pavin, Duffy Waldorf, Steve Pate, Jay Delsing and Tom Pernice among others.

After returning from Asia in 1995, he assisted Laird Small in developing the Pebble Beach Golf Academy and was named the “2003 PGA Teacher of the Year.”  At Pebble Beach Golf Academy Patrick taught and developed programs for seven years. He has a tremendous background in professional instruction across the United States and abroad. Patrick’s range of professional instruction includes private sessions, corporate groups and junior player development. 

He is an authorized instructor of The Titleist Performance Institute and The Golfing Machine. In 2007 Patrick was awarded the AT&T Pebble Beach Junior Golf Association’s “Professional of the Year” award and serves on its board of directors.
 
He has developed his teaching methods while partnering with the “Who’s Who of American Golf Instruction” including Ben Doyle, Jim Flick, Jack Lumpkin, Tom Ness, Eddie Merrins, Butch Harmon, David Ledbetter, Jimmy Ballard, Laird Small, Katherine Marren, Dan Pasquariello.
 
He has assisted the following touring professionals in clinics: Johnny Miller, David Duval, Gary Player, Mark O’Meara, Andy North and Ken Venturi.
 
He has been the swing coach for the following tour pros: Gary Hallberg, Brian Claar and Mark Wurtz.
