We go up there once a year to play golf. The town of Trinidad. Some of the most beautiful coastal views and bed & breakfasts in California. It is literally where the redwood forest meets the beach. It’s also about a 10 minute drive north of the Arcata/Eureka Airport. There’s also Cher-Ae Heights Casino there with a restaurant that has spectacular views.

Unique travel experiences: You have to see Avenue of the Giants and Drive-thru trees.

The town of Ferndale. The ‘Victorian Village.” I visit there every time I go. 30 minutes south of Eureka. Very quaint, beautiful authentic Victorian buildings.

On your way to Bandon Dunes please stop by Baywood G&CC. This course is truly a secret and once played I will guarantee that you will want to play it again. Set in the Redwoods it presents the best of what a golf course should offer to a player…tough enough for the scratch player and fair enough for the higher handicap
