The Summer issue of NCGA Golf magazine will be arriving in your mailbox soon!
Our gift to you…
Take the card attached on page 17 and redeem it online here: www.worldwidegolfshops.com/NCGA. Make sure you have your GHIN number (the one listed on the front of your magazine) available. Your $15 gift card code will then be e-mailed to you.
OR
Take the card into your local Golf Mart store and they will hand you a $15 gift card.
You may redeem the gift card either online or in one of the Worldwide Golf Shop locations. Find a store location.
One gift card redemption per customer, per transaction. Gift cards expire on August 31, 2008.
This card is not all that special. I’ve tried using it already.
First of all, you have to use more than the $15.00 that the card offers you. I have everything I need for my golf game so I don’t need anything more than $15.00. Second, you have to pay sales tax…7.75%, which brings the value of the gift card down to $13.84. Thirdly, you can’t pay for shipping with the card and have to log in your credit card info to pay for that. This all just seems to be too much effort for so little. I’m not going to use mine, and bet most people won’t unless they really, really need something or are easy marketing targets.
July 24th, 2008 at 9:09 pmquit your whining. if one lives far away from golf shops/stores, it’s nice to get a small discount on golf items that are necessary to play this game.
July 24th, 2008 at 10:28 pmJJ, I understand that you may not want to use the card. So far people have been very happy to receive the free gift card in the mail. You might consider donating it to a junior golfer at your club.
July 25th, 2008 at 8:14 amJJ sounds like the kind of person that will not be donating their card to a junior golfer because it would not be worth the effort. I will be donating mine as that sounds like a great idea.
July 25th, 2008 at 2:35 pmWell, how about a Shell gas card next time!!??
July 25th, 2008 at 5:17 pmHow about $15 off next year’s NCGA dues? NOW THERE IS A DEAL!!!!!!!!!
July 25th, 2008 at 8:03 pmIt was easy as pie to buy 2 dozen of my favorite golf balls on line and have them shipped to me. Between the vendor’s discount and the $15 coupon, I was happy with the price even with sales tax and shipping. JJ reminds me of my father who never hit a shot he liked.
July 26th, 2008 at 9:20 amWith Roger Dunn Golfshop shown prominently on your “gift card”, I went to the Dunn store in Fresno (I live in Sacramento). I was told that to use the card I would have make a purchase of a minimum of $50. This may have been a discount but I don’t consider this a “gift”!
July 26th, 2008 at 3:44 pmShige,
There is NO MINIMUM purchase amount. Please contact them at this number if you have a concern about a particular store: (888) 216-5252.
July 26th, 2008 at 4:00 pmI noticed that I can go on-line to redeem the discount so I got a gift card that I’ll use at a local Golf Mart. I still have the card that came with the NCGA magazine. So I’ll have a $25 gift card (paid $10 + $5 shipping = $15 paid) and the $15 card from NCGA.
Outsmarting the system.
July 26th, 2008 at 6:07 pmMaybe I am easy but I thought it was pretty cool to get a gift card in the mail. Went to worldwidegolfshops.com/ncga got a dozen of golf balls shipped to my home for about $13.50! and they where good balls. JJ what where you expecting a free lunch or dinner!
July 28th, 2008 at 1:14 amYou can satisfy everyone… $15 is $15 dollars. If you plan on buying golf balls, gloves, tees, etc… I’ll be happy to get a $15 off or discount on my purchase. Would you like some cheese with that “whine” too!?
July 28th, 2008 at 10:59 amMost of your are easily bought…pawns if you will. It’s a nice card if you live near one of their stores, but I don’t and I would end up spending $15 in gas just getting to one of the stores. If you’re going to give a gift, give something that can be used without any hassle and is convenient for everyone. I can get everything I need down the street at the local golf shop, paying shipping for something is a waste. Donating to a junior golfer would be WONDERFUL but I don’t think they have a credit card to input when checking out of their shopping cart and I already do plenty for junior golfers in my area. I know most of you are not college graduates, but don’t you realize that you’re having to pay money out of pocket just to to use this card???
July 28th, 2008 at 10:42 pmI run a local junior golf association called Salinas Valley Junior Golf Association. If anyone would like to donate their $15 gift card to a junior, they can mail it to us. Our organization supports about 300 juniors in the Salinas, Monterey, Santa Cruz area. They would love to have $15 off their purchase at the local Golf Mart store. Our address is P.O. Box 2507 Salinas, CA 93902.
Thanks,

Worldwide Golf Shops have been positively overwhelmed by recent business stemming from the $15 gift card. We are glad golfers are taking advantage of the credit and appreciate all of the thank you e-mails from NCGA members.
July 29th, 2008 at 11:21 amI attempted to use my $15 gift card and followed the redemption instructions to the letter (received the emailed redemption code and applied it), however when I hit the “purchase” button I noticed there was no $15 discount noted on the confirmation. I then called the 888-216-5252 number shown on my order confirmation and spoke with a man who said he would credit the $15 discount to my credit card once the “purchase had posted”, but it’s been over a week and, while the purchase itself is shown, I still don’t see a credit on my Visa statement.
I haven’t called again because I wanted to see if anyone else experienced this same situation. I was wondering if this was some sort of scam on the vendor’s part. Sounds like I must be the only one who was unlucky! I’ll give them another call…
July 31st, 2008 at 8:50 amJan,
If an order is placed and there is an error at checkout, they will credit the account but it will take 36-48 hours.
July 31st, 2008 at 9:58 amI placed the order on July 23rd and still no credit. I’ll give them a call about it, though. Thanks so much for your reply!

July 31st, 2008 at 3:09 pmI wish I could sink a ten foot down hill putt as easy as it was to use this discount card. Walked into Golf Mart picked up a doz. Pro V handed the card over 45.00 - 15.00 = 30.00, yeah I paid tax but what else is new. Thanks NCGA!
August 1st, 2008 at 7:17 amSome people like JJ are just haters. He probably hates the Easter Bunny too. Thank you again NCGA for making our membership great.
August 1st, 2008 at 9:12 amNot sure why JJ is making such a big deal about the “FREE $15.00 gift card”.
August 1st, 2008 at 10:50 amJJ, if you don’t want to use it, donate it as everyone has suggested.
What the recepient does with it is their problem. Why do you care if the junior golfer has a credit card or not? Their parents can worry about that. Geez man… a gift card is a gift!
Besides, once you have the gift card on hand, you can use it at anytime. It has no expiration!
I went to Roger Dunn in Fresno and they told me that I can not use the $15 gift card toward purchasing golf balls, but I can apply it to other items over $50. Did I miss the fine print somewhere?
August 1st, 2008 at 3:56 pmJQ,
The store in Fresno is an exception to all the other stores because they are an independently owned franchise. They do not have to accept the gift card. However, you can use the gift card online and they will ship it to you.
August 2nd, 2008 at 3:44 pmSO MUCH FOR TRYING TO USE MINE EVERY TIME I TRY TO GO THERE I WIND UP HERE !!!
August 2nd, 2008 at 3:56 pmT.H. - There was a problem with the link to Worldwide Golf Shops that is being fixed right now.
Thanks,
August 4th, 2008 at 9:48 amWhat a great deal! I bought a box of Precept balls for $2 and had it delivered right to my doorstep. Easy as 1-2-3.
August 5th, 2008 at 3:55 pmI, also went to Roger Dunn in Fresno, CA, and was told it was a $50 minumum and could not be used to purchase golf balls. I left the store. I wound up ordering something online and paid shipping……I will not shop at Roger Dunns again.
August 6th, 2008 at 1:07 pmJ. Carris - Thanks for the comment. Please see above about the Fresno store. They are independantly owned and did not have to accept the card. We apologize for any confusion and are glad that you did get to use the card online.
Thanks,
August 6th, 2008 at 1:16 pmThis is a good promotion for NCGA, but if you live in Fresno as I do, forget Roger Dunn. Their attitude towards customers is so bad. I have had other customer service issues with that store before but only since they became independent. They used to be pretty good. I won’t be shopping there again. If you don’t have a golf mart or company owned Roger Dunn in your area, use it on line. $15 is still $15. Thanks NCGA, and thanks Clare for your help on the phone.
August 8th, 2008 at 11:18 amI took my card into the GolfMart in Concord, CA today. Grabbed two boxes of Srixon golf balls (AD 333)paid $28 bucks and got the promotional Srixon towell as well (free). Normally I would have paid $45.00, so I have to say I was pretty happy with the deal. And it was no problem redeeming the card. No questions asked whatsoever.
August 8th, 2008 at 7:59 pmI did it too.
I went online to redeem the discount so I got a gift card that I’ll use at a local Golf Mart. I still have the card that came with the NCGA magazine.
So I’ll have a $25 gift card which I only paid $15 for(paid $10 + $5 shipping) and the $15 discount card from NCGA. SO OVERALL, I’M GETTING A $25 DOLLAR SAVING.
Outsmarting the system also…
August 9th, 2008 at 6:49 pmNice promo NCGA! Like anything else in this beautiful country of freedom loving golfers, you have the choice of using the freebee, giving it away or doing nothing at all. For me, I consider it a simple discount on the next item I purchase. I’m sure I’ll need new gloves, balls, grips…
August 11th, 2008 at 9:18 amBoth my wife and I were thrilled to receive the gift card. We couldn’t wait to use it. We both have similar contact info, but our GHIN numbers are different. When we tried to redeem the gift cards, this is where the thrilling sensation ended. They sent us both the same redemption code and we tried to use it, it only accepted one and said the other code was invalid because it was already used. We called them and explained the situation and they said they would validate the code for us to use. We went through this three times and never were able to get the code for my wife to use her gift card. Three times of them apologizing, but never getting the problem fixed. So we decided to just use the one card, even though she is a paid member. We placed our order on 7/27 and our card was charged on 7/29, so I assumed my order was on the way. After the expected delivery date went by, I decided to call and check on the order. It was only after two calls, and a promised call back that never happened, that I was told the item was on backorder. Never during the order process or the charging of my credit card, was I told the item was on backorder. They told me it may be a month before the item is available. How is it fair for them to collect my money, without delivering product. The gentleman on the phone ( and I use that term loosely), said that is the way they do business. So I advised that was the last time, I would do business with them. I canceled my order needless to say. Thank you to the marketing person for appreciating our membership, but very bad props on the company to choose to offer the gift card. World wide golf shop has proven to me to be way over par in the service provided.
August 11th, 2008 at 10:15 amWOW! THIS GIFT CARD AWESOME!!! SO SIMPLE TO USE. THANKS NCGA. LET’S GET THIS AGAIN NEXT YEAR
August 11th, 2008 at 11:13 amJust bought 4 box of golf Titleist golf balls, received FREE SHIPPING + $15 OFF…what a deal. It was so easy my five year old good have done it. Thanks NCGA…Sammy-O from Indio
August 11th, 2008 at 11:18 amWe thank you for all your comments. If there is anything else the NCGA can do to enhance your golf experience, please let us know. We are always working to improve our member benefits.
August 11th, 2008 at 1:33 pmThanks, NCGA - I used my gift card to buy one of those fat putter grips :) It was completely painless, and the $14.99 grip ended up costing me a few cents. I have read with amazement the whining of some people here, and I just wanted to provide a counterpoint…
August 12th, 2008 at 5:50 pmI put in a request for the $15 on the World Wide of Golf website on 8/3/08 and still have not received the code (actually entered in two requests, still have one more GHIN number in the household to enter).
August 13th, 2008 at 7:34 amJC,
I would check your e-mail spam filter for the code. Otherwise, give them a call and I’m sure they will be helpful over the phone: (888) 216-5252.
August 13th, 2008 at 8:11 amOMG! It was bound to happen sooner or later…Give someone a GIFT, as in it costs them nothing, and they complain. I redeemed my $15 card on line and the entire process took less than 5 minutes. OK, with the shipping I only got $10 out of it, but it was $10 more than I was going to get without this very nice benefit. I am one of those golfers who buys gloves and balls on a regular basis, so I can always use a free $10 present. I bet those complaining would go ballistic if they belonged to more than one club, like I do, and paid double or triple NCGA dues. Which is, by the way, an incredibly small percentage of my annual golfing expenses.
August 13th, 2008 at 6:46 pmA friend told me about the coupon, so I opened my copy to page 17 and no coupon….evidence of the glue, but no coupon.
Looks like I could order on-line without, but would prefer going to the store. My ghin 9510196
thanks
August 15th, 2008 at 7:42 amBoth my son and I used the gift card and bought some golf balls, We are very happy with the experience. NCGA, thank you
