Surf and Turf is an item on many restaurant menus across the country, but for attendees at the Assistant Superintendent Boot Camp, the Surf and Turf Spectacular is where golf’s magic will happen each day. The Monterey Peninsula is arguably the equivalent of golf’s holy land. A number of premier facilities dot this magnificent landscape on the central coast of California.
The eighth annual Assistant Superintendent Boot Camp on September 28-30, 2008 will again be held at the Asilomar Conference Grounds in Pacific Grove, CA with golf at the newly renovated Carmel Valley Ranch and a field trip to the famed Pebble Beach Golf Links.
The cost of the Boot Camp ranges from $325 for double occupancy to $425 for single occupancy.*
The full conference fee includes two nights lodging, all meals (six), plus a wind jacket and golf shoes from Nike. Participants will have a choice of playing in the Assistant Superintendent Golf Championship at Carmel Valley Ranch on Monday afternoon or receiving individual golf lessons. The golf championship will be flighted with prizes.
A limited number (10) of one-day registrations will be available on Monday, September 29 and Tuesday, September 30. One-day attendees will pay $175 for Monday and $125 for Tuesday and will receive the conference proceedings, meals and DPR credits. One-day attendees are not eligible to play in the golf tournament unless there are cancellations or vacancies. Vacant spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Some of the topics for this year’s Boot Camp include a love/hate relationship with Poa Annua, fine tuning the irrigation system, respirator training and understanding
the label of each product.
