LIVERMORE -  Tuesday’s final round started with 12 teams within four strokes of the lead. 

Bass Lake’s Ray Cheek and Eugene Quintana triumphed with a narrow one-stroke victory.  The pair became the 2008 NCGA Senior Net Four-Ball Champions after firing a final-round net 13-under-par for a 25-under-par 119 total. 

Competitors had to wait an hour and a half in the morning to tee off due to an unusual fog delay at the Poppy Ridge course.  Over 800 players tried to qualify for the championship at 13 sites around Northern California earlier in the season.

Frank Salinda and Dennis Sellen of UAL 32 GC finished at net 24-under-par to tie with San Mateo County GC’s Richard Flanagan and Horace Hurst who posted a 59 in the final round.

UAL 32 succeeded on the first playoff hole to nab second place, while San Mateo County finished in third.
