PEBBLE BEACH – The Shelter Cove team of Roger Carson and Pat Goodman captured the NCGA Four-Ball Net Championship at Poppy Hills.
Carson and Goodman held onto their first-round lead, firing an 18-under-par 124 in the better-ball net format. Two strokes behind the champions was the Selma Valley team of Robert Chavez and Juan Gonzales, who started the final round tied with Shelter Cover for the lead.
Third place was nabbed by the Oakdale team of Bob Aronson and Robert Lemos, who finished four strokes back of the champions.
A total of 55 teams competed for the title after qualifying for the championship via 13 individual tournaments in late August.
