My spouse and I are avid golfers, but find the cost of golfing becoming a big expense in California. Since we are retired we do have the benefit of playing on weekdays. We consistently use the golf websites for discount rounds. When we have to play on a weekend in an event we find it to be very expensive since we are paying 2 green fees. Accordingly we hardly ever play on weekends. We just got back from Tucson and found that many of their higher end courses are really suffering and were offering discounts average 50-75% and other courses were at least 40-50%. I do not see the same in California with many courses and yet when associates play these courses during the week there are a lot of vacant tee times. I hope courses see the writing on the wall in pricing or a lot of courses will really struggle next year. They also do not offer any discounts when a couple plays. I think they should be trying to attract couples to play. I think your new program should be titled: Save Some Green.

What a bunch of whiners. Course fees are a little high but look at the quality of the course you get to play. One way to keep costs down is to go play goat tracks and cheap, not well maintained courses.
Thanks NCGA for any discount available, I’ll be taking advantage of them.
