State of the State of California Golf

You are invited to the California Alliance for Golf’s conference call on “The State of the State” of California golf, April 16 at 11:00 a.m.

Join Bob Bouchier, Executive Director of the California Alliance for Golf (CAG) for a call spotlighting the state policy “leader board”— golf tax back in play, mitigating drought’s impact.

When: Thursday, April 16, 2009 at 11a.m.

Why: Next week’s golf industry conference call is one you’ll not want to miss. CAG is leading the way as the coordinating entity for golf statewide. The call will provide you with the latest updates on the industry’s two top concerns—taxes and water:

Although we won a critical first round with your support, the golf tax is poised to return as part of a proposed restructuring of California’s tax system.  Find out what efforts will be needed by the industry and golfers across the state to fight back.

With a drought emergency declared by the Governor, many local governments are weighing enforced water rationing. Find out how CAG is meeting with water districts to develop alternative programs emphasizing water conservation.

Joining Bob on the call will be CAG’s point man at the State Capitol, Steve Baker of Aaron Read & Associates and our public relations team at Porter Novelli Sacramento—to provide insights on advocacy efforts.

Get informed. Get your golfers involved. Get on the call April 16.

Call-in number: 877 807-5706
Participant code:  671422

Note: Because of the large number of callers expected to participate, this will be a listen only call. CAG, however, welcomes follow up questions at our www.forecalifornia.com website in the “Contact Us” section.
