We are in awe (and a little sore in the legs) from playing in the 2nd Annual Invitational at Pebble Beach. This was my first time to play Pebble Beach -- not my husbands though -- and it was spectacular and matched my expectations. Spyglass on the other hand was such a challenge that it will become a recurring nightmare for me.

Thanks to Ally and Tom for organizing a great group of folks, providing great value for the price we paid, and for being so hospitable.

Met some nice golfers, played 3 terrific courses, and celebrated the 4th of July in memorable fashion.

maybe the NCGA should send out FREE KLEENEX so you can all CRY about not being able to play PEBBLE BEACH FOR FREE???

GEEZ, the NCGA is busting their humps to provide opportunities to it's membership, if you think it costs too much don't go. Don't get mad at the NCGA for not making it free, nothing worth anything is free.

THANKS NCGA FOR ALL YOU DO.

PS all you who are hating on the NCGA for the Pebble deal can go play Poppy Hills for the NCGA SUBSIDIZED rate and complain about not getting anything.

Thank you NCGA for all your efforts to bring value to the majority. Your outings are terrific and the Invitational’s are spectacular. Some would argue the price for anything (including golf) is always out of reach. I guess its all relative. It’s okay to post your views about the price but please don’t make this a have/have not or political issue. There is always a cost associated for everything thing in life, so make you choices wisely!

Greetings,

As someone who played in this event last year (and traveled from Milwaukee to do it) I can honestly say that the experience was priceless for me. I was able to play with my father and brother (who resides in Northern California) on three of the most amazing golf courses in the world. I had actually paid the full $525 to play Pebble Beach just two months earlier and was very happy to do so, how many people from Wisconsin who aren't Steve Stricker can say that they have played Pebble Beach twice in three months?

I understand everyone has their own idea of value and mine is probably different from yours but the ability to spend a weekend playing golf on three of the finest courses on earth, stay in a beautiful resort and enjoy a holiday weekend with my parents and brother, for that $2100 is chump change and I cannot wait to get there again this year.

I played in this tournament last year and had the best time ever playing golf. I decided it was my vacation for the year, which made it worth the price. Worth every penny to play the most beautiful course in the world. The NCGA did a great job of making me feel special.
Thanks.

Are women invited to play in this tournament? What a fantastic tournament. Can't believe all the whiners! I've had the privilege of playing at Turnberry in Scotland (absolute religious experience)and also at a mens'-only golf course within Edinburgh, Scotland as a guest, female guest. All I heard from the locals was how they wished they could come to the US to play Pebble Beach. Here we are so fortunate to live right here and don't even appreciate the availability and possibility to play such a magnificent course beloved by true golfers, Scots, without having to get on a plane and fly 5,000 miles. Can't make it this year but would love to plan on it next year.

I was fortunate enough to play the Invitational last year with my two sons. We had a wonderful time and the NCGA did a spectacular job. I will agree that it is an expensive event. We have just enough money to play in it again this year. I liked the shoebox idea, I am going to start today putting $3 a day in the box so I have enough to play next year.

this event is obviously for the few people in this economy that have money to waste and not for the majority of the general public. this is a shame. This is not a good deal, and none of my hard earned cash will go this way.

I know the reason why the price hasn't dropped for a round at Pebble Beach it is because foreigners and still playing there. The golf still makes money and they are banking on the prestige not the joy of golfers. It's a business don't you get it? The good ole boys club is not going to let you blue collar people play their golf course.
