CARMEL – The Summitpointe team of George Dwyer, Ron Ormonde, Mark Reynolds and Pat Simon captured the NCGA East Bay Zone Championship at Quail Lodge.

Summitpointe fired a 29-under 257 in the format that takes the best two of four net scores per hole, holding onto their first-round lead. Four strokes behind was runners up Larry Hancock, David Olmeda, Don Santos and Jay Valles of Wente Vineyards. Wente started the day six strokes back.

Round Hill took third, five shots behind the champions.

Summitpointe and Wente Vineyards qualify for the Zone Championship August 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
