CARMEL – The California GC team of Bruce Caron, Joe Carron, Stephen Connolly and Lance Gimbal grabbed the San Francisco Bay Zone Championship at Quail Lodge GC, coming from behind in the final round.
California fired a 34-under 252 in the format the takes the low two net scores of four per hole. The Lincoln Park team of Naoto De Silva, David Lambert and Jim Waggoner and Tom Weathered took second, six strokes back of the champions, after co-leading the first round. Olympic Club finished third, eight behind the champions.
Both California and Lincoln Park qualify for the Zone Championship, to be held August 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
