PEBBLE BEACH – The final event of the spring series of the NCGA Junior Tour concluded at Poppy Hills GC.

Justin Kim of Arroyo Grande took top honors in the Boys’ Championship Flight, earning the title with a birdie in a one-hole playoff with runner-up Matt Pinizzotto of Salinas. Justin Marchiando of Carmel finished third.

So Young Hwang of San Jose came from behind with a sterling two-under 70 (the only red number from the entire field of the tournament) to capture the Girls’ Championship Flight. Seven strokes back was first-round leader Asia Adell of Fresno. Paige Lee of Folsom and Mariko Tumangan of San Jose tied for third.

The Boys’ First Flight saw Grant Raffel of Palo Alto expand his two-stroke first-round lead to a whopping 11 shots in a commanding win. Troy Maxoutopoulis of Pleasanton took second while Amay Poria of Morgan Hill grabbed third. The Girls’ First Flight also witnessed a dominating, wire-to-wire champion in Chloe Corriveau of Monterey who fired twin 78s for a 156 total and a 12-stroke victory. Emily Laskin of Elk Grove was second while Mabel Wong of Oakdale took third.

In the Net Division, Thomas Huddleston of Vacaville took first, followed by Neerav Sharma of San Jose and Alessandro Melle of Arroyo Grande. In the Girls’ Net Division, Stephani Girbri took first while Jayshree Sarathy finished second and Meghan Shain took third.

The Junior Tour is on hiatus for a few weeks, next stopping at Belmont CC in Fresno June 23-24 for the start of the summer series.
