CARMEL VALLEY – The Plumas Lake team of Richard Carter, Jesse Martynski, Ed Powell and Tom Sanchez took home the NCGA North Valley Zone Championship at Quail Lodge GC.
Plumas Lake fired a 28-under net 258 in the format that takes the best two of four net scores per hole. The champions had started the day one stroke back of third-place finisher Little River Inn, but posted a steady 15-under 127 in the final round to card a one-shot win.
The Table Mountain GC team of Doug Eidson, Barry Fallesen, Jim Hageman and Dixon Howell took second, powered by a strong final round team score of 17-under 125. Little River Inn and Coyote Run tied for third, four strokes back of the champions.
Both Plumas Lake and Table Mountain and qualify for the Zone Championship, to be held August 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
