PEBBLE BEACH – The DeLaveaga GC duo of John and Mike Barss came from behind in the final round to claim the NCGA Four-Ball Net Championship at Spyglass Hill.

The team carded a final-round net 58 to go with their opening round 61 to post a 119 total and a three-stroke win in the format that takes the best net score of two per hole. They had started the day three strokes off the lead set by Redwood Empire’s  Larry Lafrance and Richard Sutherland (who faded to third) and finished at net 25 under par for the championship. DeLaveaga’s roller-coaster final round consisted of eight net birdies, three eagles and a double eagle versus three bogeys.

San Luis Obispo’s Chris Eppright and Luke Faber finished second, three back of the champions and two in front of third-place Redwood Empire. Eppright and Faber had started the final round in second and maintained that position in the final standings.
