June 14-20 Designated California Golf Week
On the heels of honoring the NCGA Foundation’s accomplishments, the California Senate has designated June 14-20 as California Golf Week, concurrent with the 109th playing of the U.S. Open.
Introduced by Senator Alex Padilla representing the San Fernando Valley in Southern California, the resolution acknowledged the work of the state’s regional golf associations, the more than 900 courses and 3 million golfers, the game’s charitable nature (California’s golf courses help raise over $300 million for numerous worthy charities and causes and the impact of the sport on the state’s economy, among other factors.
