PCGA Team Announced
The NCGA announced that Randy Haag, Gregor Main and Eric Mina will comprise the Northern California team at the annual Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, to be held July 27-30 at Eugene CC in Eugene, Oregon.
Haag, Main and Mina will compete for the Morse Cup, a team competition among all competing associations as well as for the prestigious individualtitle. The last time Northern California captured the Morse Cup was 2002; Pacifica’s Patrick Nagle was the last Northern Californian to capture the individual title, winning at The Olympic Club in 2006.
Haag, or Burlingame, is a four-time and current NCGA Player of the Year with 11 NCGA titles to his credit; Main is a rising junior at UCLA and won the Southern Amateur in Memphis in the fall of 2009, he resides in Danville. Mina is a rising senior at Cal Berkeley and is originally from Fremont and won the individual title of the PAC-10 conference in 2010.
The 2011 championship heads back to Northern California for the first time since 2006 (Olympic Club) and will be staged at Martis Camp in Truckee, July 26-29.
