CARMEL -The Oakmont GC team of Sean McDermott, Steve Sharpe, John Sully and Dewayne White blew away the field by 13 shots in claiming the NCGA North Zone Championship at Quail Lodge GC.

Oakmont put together rounds of 120-122 for a final score of -44 net 242 in the format that takes the best two of four net scores per hole. Oakmont started the final round with a four-stroke lead. Coming in a distant second was the Stonetree team of Dale Banda, Steve Bobus, Chris Ladd and Mark Nelson.

Rooster Run GC took third, one stroke out of second place.

Both Oakmont and Stonetree qualify for the Zone Championship, to be held August 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
