Boys Championship Flight

It was a hard battle between Kit Carson of Galt and Belmont member Bryson Dechambeau.  In the end, Carson’s 68-70 enabled him to finish one stroke ahead of Dechambeau’s 69-70.  Starting at number 10, Carson shot a 33 on the back 9 to grab a two-shot lead over Dechambeau at the turn.   Bryson birdied the first hole while bogeys at two and three for Carson put him one behind with six holes to play.  He quickly birdied five and seven while Dechambeau bogeyed 6  to move two in front.  A bogey at eight by Carson lowered the lead to one.  Dechambeau hit the par 5 ninth hole in two, but three-putted for a par while Carson also parred to win by one.  Antioch’s Jaskaran Sihota followed up his fine 70 of day one with a 74 to finish third at even par 144.
