CARMEL VALLEY – The Fresno Airways team of Jim Anderson, Alonso Barba, Jorge Barba and Duke Weaver came from two shots down in the final round to win the NCGA South Valley Zone Championship at Quail Lodge.

Airways carded a 36-under-par net 250 in the format that takes the best two of four net scores per hole to post a five-stroke victory.

The Sunnyside CC team of Rick Freund, Tom Freund, Greg Funk and Hal Harris took second while first-round leader Belmont CC faded to third place, six behind the champions.

Both Fresno Airways and Sunnyside qualify for the Zone Championship, to be held August 30-31 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
