LIVERMORE – The Madera Muni team of Frank Kerby and Eddie Williams came from one-stroke back in the final round to capture the NCGA Senior Four-Ball Net Championship at Poppy Ridge.
Kerby and Williams fired a closing round 13-under net 59 to pair with their opening 61 for a 24-under net 120 total. That score was good for a four-stroke win over first-round leaders Diamond Mountain (Randy Rice and Jim Cleveland) and Oakmont (Jerry Hyde and Sean McDermott). A scorecard playoff saw Diamond Mountain earn runner-up honors.
The event is for NCGA members 55 and older and was played at 90% of the competitors’ handicaps for men, 95 % for women.
