CARMEL – The Saratoga CC team of Tom Cook, Paul Hammond, Augustus Kamburis and Stephen Webb held onto its first-round lead to capture the NCGA South Bay Zone Championship at Quail Lodge Resort.

Saratoga began the day tied for the lead with Bolado Park, but carded a final-round 122 to pair with its first round 123 at Poppy Hills for a stellar net 41-under 245 in the event  which takes the two best net scores of four per hole. Bolado Park would fade to 11th place.

Runner-up Pasatiempo GC – Rob Moser, Stephen Stapleton, Eric Thune and Dick Yokota – moved up a spot in the final round, finishing four back of the champions. Sunnyvale GC took third, two strokes behind Pasatiempo.

Saratoga and Pasatiempo qualify for the Zone Championship August 29 and 30 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
