Team Match Playoffs
The Team Match Championship, the NCGA’s most popular tournament program, begins playoffs next week leading to the finals, to be played at Poppy Hills October 28-29.
The finals are the conclusion to a summer-long competition involving more than 200 teams from across Northern California. The 12-person teams compete in four-ball (best ball) matches concurrent with singles’ matches, with each match worth two points, or a total of six in each group. More than 15,000 rounds are played to bring the final four clubs to Poppy Hills.
Defending champion Tehama did not make the playoffs in 2011, losing to Monterey Peninsula CC in its group (groups are determined by the club’s geography and type). Tehama had won the championship twice in the last six yearrs and had won the Thursday League Championship the last two seasons.
On the links below, teams highlighted in blue have qualified for the playoffs.
