FRESNO – Daniel Butcher beat Sergio Rios in a sudden-death playoff to win the 2012 Fresno County Amateur. The two competitors finished the 36-hole event with a 147 total along with Nate Jessup forcing a playoff. With Jessup having already left the facility Butcher and Rios squared off and Butcher won on the first hole after making a birdie. Finishing in a three-way tie for fourth place were AJ Maxedon, Christopher Macasaet and Blake Ahlin at 148.

In the senior division Byron Johnson won on his home track by posting a 36-hole score of 150. Rob Adolph took second place honors with a 152, while Doug Johnson fired a 155, good enough for third place.
