PEBBLE BEACH – Forty-two teams advanced through local qualifying to sectional qualifying for the 31st Annual NCGA Associate Club Championship on Wednesday at seven different Northern California golf courses. Leading the way was San Lorenzo GC with a score of 118, 26-under-par, closely followed by Dragons GC at 119, 25-under-par. Three other teams qualified with a 121, 23-under-par, while scores of 123, 124 (2) and 126 (1) also qualified.

The next largest qualifier was held at Santa Clara GTC with eight teams moving on. E-Club South Bay earned low honors, also with a net score of 118, 26-under-par. Eagle Ridge Rewards Club finished second at 120, 24-under-par, while third place went to BDGE GC at 122, 22-under-par. One team qualified with a 123, two teams qualified with a 125, and only two of the four teams who fired a 126 qualified.

Ancil Hoffman GC and Castle Oaks GC each had seven spots available in their respective qualifiers. Sacramento Chinese GC and Sac District GC shared medalist honors at the Ancil Hoffman GC qualifier each with scores of 123, 21-under-par. Two teams qualified with scores of 127 and 128, while the final team to qualify, SABGC, posted a 133.

Monarch Bay GC had five teams qualify from the par-71 layout. Leading the way was Spondulick GC at 117, 25-under-par, seven shots better than its nearest competitor. Tied for second place at 124, 18-under-par were NAS GA and Half Moon Bay Katz GC. Fourth place went to Loons Nest GC at 127, 15-under-par, while fifth place went to E-Club San Francisco at 128, 14-under-par.

Shadow Lakes GC had four teams advance, led by Martinez GA at 121, 23-under-par. E-Club North Bay took second place at 122, 22-under-par, with third place going to Northgate GC at 123, 21-under-par. The final team to qualify, finishing alone in fourth place, was Lamorinda GC at 126, 18-under-par.

The smallest of the qualifiers was at San Geronimo GC, where only two teams survived. Swing Hard GC earned the top spot with a score of 125, 19-under-par, while second place went to Outabounds GC at 129, 15-under-par.

Teams that advanced through local qualifying will next play in sectional qualifying on August 1 at Poppy Ridge GC.
