SAN JOSE – Playoffs were needed in both the championship and senior divisions to determine the winners of the San Jose City Championship.
Winning the championship division via sudden-death playoff was Owen Hutchison who beat Chris Whalen after both players finished 36 holes at 2-under-par 140. Finishing in a tie for third one-shot back was Jack Mulroy and William Ayres, who each posted 36-hole scores of 1-under-par 141. Aleksei Koika, Evan Dunbrack and Steve Woods finished tied for fifth place at even-par 142. Matt Lloyd finished alone in eighth at 1-over-par 143, while Amol Mahal, David Scott, Patrick Soli and Shintaro Ban tied for ninth with a score of 2-over-par 144.
In the senior division Greg Saiki beat Gary Conti in a sudden-death playoff as both players also both finished with a 36-hole total of 2-under-par 142. Neil Duffy and Steve Donnelly finished well back in a tie for third at 7-over-par 149. Tied for fifth were Larry Murchan, Mike Wishart and Bill Snell at 8-over-par 150.
