Meadowood Golf Club of Napa hung onto the lead and wrapped up the title.
Meadowood GC shot 13-under 127 Friday at par-72 Carmel Valley Ranch to finish at 34-under 250 and win the NCGA North Bay Zone Championship by four over runner-up Mayacama Golf Club of Santa Rosa.
The Meadowood GC squad, comprised of teammates Allan Armstrong, Ben Hill, Trent Moffett and Richard Wilson, had come into the final round holding a three stroke lead after a first round 21-under 123 at Del Monte Golf Course.
In the final round, Meadowood had two eagles and eight birdies to go with just one bogey.
Mayacama GC, which began the day seven behind Meadowood, charged up to second place with a 16-under 124 at the Ranch. Mayacama GC, made up of teammates Rick Herbert, Richard Coombs, Ted Simpkins and James Silveira, had the exact same scorecard it had a day before–five eagles, five birdies, seven pars and a bogey.
With their finishes, both Meadowood GC and Mayacama GC earned automatic berths into this year’s NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 25-26 at Poppy Hills Golf Course and Spyglass Hill.
Foxtail Golf Club (Rohnert Park), which had come into the final round tied for second with Fairgrounds Golf Course (Santa Rosa) at 126, fell back to third place after carding a 129.
The Foxtail GC squad, comprised of teammates Stephen Bolman, Mark Natividad, Luke Legoski and David Wingard, had four eagles and six birdies, but had two bogeys and a crucial double-bogey on the par-3 5th.
Fairgrounds GC, which had started the day tied for second, had an even tougher go, posting a 1-under 139 to fall back into a tie for 14th.

Meadowood Golf Club of Napa is the team to chase after Thursday’s first round of the North Bay Zone Championship at par-72 Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey.
Meadowood–made up of teammates Allan Armstrong, Ben Hill, Trent Moffett and Richard Wilson–finished the first round with a score of 21-under 123 in a format that takes the two best net scores per hole of a four-man team. The four rang up eight eagles and five birdies with just two bogeys. Meadowood played Del Monte’s par-4′s to the tune of 14-under.
Tied for second, three strokes behind, after both came in at 126 are Fairgrounds Golf Course (Santa Rosa) and Foxtail Golf Club (Rohnert Park).
Fairgrounds GC, made up of teammates Shawn Chase, Jon Johnson, Dennis Spero and Gregory Valery, carded six eagles, nine birdies and a bogey.
Foxtail GC, comprised of David Wingard, Stephen Bolman, Luke Legoski and Mark Natividad, had six eagles, four birdies and a bogey.
In at 128 and alone in fourth place is Stone Tree Golf Club (Marin County), which consists of Spencer Short, Chris Norlander, John White and Jonathan Lesser.
Friday’s second round will be held at par-70 Carmel Valley Ranch Resort. The two low teams will qualify for the NCGA Zone Championship, slated for August 25-26 at Poppy Hills Golf Course and Spyglass Hill.
