Christmas Classic

Untitled-1CARLSBAD, Calif.  – For over twenty years, players from all over the state have marked the first weekend in December down on their calendars for the Christmas Classic, founded by 15-time NCGA tournament winner Casey Boyns of Pacific Grove, and now administered by amateurgolf.com. (Many longtime players still refer to the tournament as “Casey’s”)

This year, the tournament will take on a charitable tone that is very fitting with the holiday time frame, as a portion of each player’s entry fee, and proceeds from par three contests will be donated to the NCGA Foundation’s Youth on Course program, which amateurgolf.com also supports via a skins game at Sequoyah Country Club each summer.

“Youth on course is an amazing program that gets young people playing the game and hitting balls for next to nothing,” said amateurgolf.com Founder Pete Wlodkowski. “After 10 years building our golf website and tournament series, it’s very satisfying to give something back.”

The Christmas Classic is played over two courses, Del Monte G.C. and Pacific Grove Golf Links. Players can enter championship, senior championship, net or women’s divisions. A USGA handicap is required to compete, but players do not have to reside in Northern California. Early registration entry fees (prior to November 20) run $255, with $10 off for college/high school students or senior citizens.
