PEBBLE BEACH – The Agilent Soco GC team of Tim Lazaruk, Bill Lycette, Victor Sallee, Edward Soler came from behind in the final round to claim the NCGA Associate Club Championship at Spyglass Hill.
Agilent Soco fired a 40-under net 248 in the format that takes the best two of four scores per hole, a format that mirrors the setup of the NCGA Zone Championship program for regular golf clubs (a championship run concurrently with the Associate Club Championship).
The FFIC Fundster team of John Keefe, Peter Imbs, Judy Schroder and Robert Adra took second by one stroke, after opening the final round in a three-way tie for the lead with third place finisher Northgate (David Abellera, Alex Magpantay, Carlos Ventura and Cesar Rodulfo), who finished two strokes out from the champions.
The tournament is the culmination of several qualifying events involving teams from more than 260 associate clubs. The top 30 teams from sectional qualifying qualified for the championship.
