LIVERMORE – Matthew Seramin, Hannah Suh, Chris Parkinson and Jordan Keyser capture division titles at the NCGA Junior Tour Fall Series IV at Poppy Ridge.
Matthew Seramin of San Geronimo began the day tied for the lead in the Boys Championship flight after posting a first-round two-under-par 70. After a final-round one-over-par 73, Seramin was tied at one-under-par 143 with San Jose’s Shotaro Ban, who came in strong with a two-under-par 70. A playoff ensued and Seramin nabbed the title with a par on the third extra hole.
Ban went on to take the runner-up place, while Lawrence Fu of Piedmont fired a two-under-par 70 to finish at even-par 144 in third place.
In the Boys First Flight, Chris Parkinson swept up the title with a final-round two-over-par 74. An eight stroke improvement over the first round meant a 12-over-par 156 total, which was good enough for a five-stroke win over the division.
Jason Pan of Union City took second at 17-over-par 161 and Novato’s Robert Briggs finished in third at 20-over-par 164 after posting a strong opening round 75.
Overnight leader Hannah Suh held onto her one-stroke lead to win the Girls Championship Flight at two-under-par 142. The San Jose resident fired a final-round even-par 72 to hold off Pleasanton’s Alexandra Sborov at one-under-par 143. Meanwhile, Kelsey Ulep from Lincoln secured third place at three-over-par 147.
In the Girls First Flight, Jordan Keyser of Ahwahnee fired a five-over-par 77 to capture the title at 17-over-par 161. Kalmina Wu of San Jose finished fired an eight-over-par 80 to take second place at 19-over-par 163, while Palo Alto’s Chloe Sales carded an 85 and took third at 21-over-par 165.
