The Alameda Naval Air Station Golf Club was formed in 1982 by golfers that worked at the Alameda Naval Air Base. Our club welcomes all-not necessarily in the military, retired, etc. The golf club holds tournaments every month on Saturdays at various Northern California courses. All tournaments have a long drive contest (men, women and seniors) and all Par 3′s are closest to the pin with cash prizes.

Bay Area Pinseekers

The Pinseekers play 18 to 19 tournaments a year, always midweek, at prices ranging from $45 to $75 for premium venues like Silverado, Saddle Creek, Hiddenbrooke, Poppy Ridge and Wente Vineyards. A two to three-day excursion is held annually, historically in either Nevada or in Monterey (although 2011 has us going to Gold Country), that includes three days of golf and first-class accommodations. At our year-end banquet we award club champion and most improved honors, and raffle off a host of prizes.

Bay Area Scramblers

Bay Area Scramblers is a coed NCGA Associate traveling club.  We schedule one event each month (usually on a Saturday or Sunday) and always at a different course from month to month.  Most of the courses we play are 30 minutes to an hour from the 580/680 interchange.  However, we also schedule 1-day tournaments as far away as Monterey and 2 or 3-day tournaments in Tahoe/Truckee/Plumas Pines or Reno.  The 2 or 3-day tournaments usually take place on the third or fourth weekend of July.  Most of our members live in the East and West Bay.  But we also have some members who live in the San Jose area.  As far as skill level, we have a few members with indexes as low as 5, some with indexes as high as 30 and most with indexes between 15 and 24.

Benicia Golf Association

Most of our members either live or work in Benicia, but we have no requirements for them to do so. We have tournaments monthly from February through November, occasionally twice a month in the summer.  Courses played regularly are Rancho Solano, Blue Rock, Paradise Valley, Hiddenbrooke, Diablo Creek, Trilogy, Bodega Harbor, Roddy Ranch, Eagle Vine, Shadow Lakes, Deer Ridge, Mare Island, and Silverado.  Half of the outings are on weekends and half on Mondays.  BGA keeps its own handicap for its tournament play, established only in its tournaments.  BGA has a FedEx-type yearly tournament where members get points for each tournament they play in, according to their placement. They get additional points for sponsored tournaments.  At the end of the year, the player with the highest 5-tournament score is the winner.  $500 is split among the first three places.  This keeps a cadre of players participating in most of the tournaments.

Buchanan Fields Golf Club

Buchanan Fields Golf Club is located in Concord and meets regularly at Buchanan Fields Golf Course, a nine hole layout with a driving range and teaching areas.  BFGC offers a wide variety of activities.  Members play scrambles and best ball formats three times each week at the home course.  Monthly tournaments are held at longer area courses, and members get together each Wednesday to play at 18-hole courses throughout the East Bay.  Social activities include club barbecues and an annual holiday party.  Golfers of all ability levels and interests are welcome.  Please come  by and say hello.

Bushwood West

We are a club that plays monthly weekend events primarily focused on having fun, but there’s always some competition as well.  Our events span from March to October all around the Bay Area from North to South with members that span from Sacramento to Monterey with the greatest concentration in the East Bay.  Our members range in handicap from 1 all the way to the high 30′s and everything in between.  We have a cumulative club championship points race that leads to an opportunity to play Pebble Beach each year.

The City of Hercules Golf Club is a fund raising organization that was established to provide mentorship for teaching the game, rules and etiquette of golf to junior members of our community. Money raised will provide funds for our junior golf program as well as local school extracurricular programs. The CHGC is a club comprised of all levels of golfers from single-digit handicappers to beginners. We have regular club tournaments once a month on either the second or third Saturday between March and September at various Bay Area courses. In October we have our Annual Fund Raiser Scramble where local businesses donate funds and prizes to support our programs.

The Maples Club

The Maples Club hosts 100 members and has over 25 regular visitors, who we call Friends of The Club, and come together to make our monthly outings a blast! THE CLUB dues are inexpensive, and we play Sunday mini-tournaments at reasonable rates.  Instead of giving all the winnings back to the event venues, we give it directly to the players to use as they wish. We also host the annual Maples Invitational – a 2-day, 2-tournament event in the late summer. The Martinez Golf Association (MGA) was established more than 40 years ago to provide golfers of all abilities the opportunity to play competitive golf, socialize and have a good time. The MGA is a traveling club that plays one tournament a month throughout the Bay Area, and one trip to Reno each year.  At the end of each year, the MGA holds a tournament with a dinner and raffle prizes. We have male and female members, with handicaps ranging from 3 to high 30s. The club plays roughly 20 tournaments a year at courses on the Monterey Peninsula to Santa Rosa to Brentwood areas, starting in early March and finishing the season at the end of October. We play 12 times per year at 12 different courses, ranging from Monterey to Auburn and all places between. Our tournaments are held on Saturdays keeping in mind when holidays fall during the year. We have a tournament budget for the top five scores each month. We also have winners for the par 3 holes and the lowest amount of putts each month. Our normal turnout is from 12 to 20 players both men and women, so you are not waiting for hours after you finish for the payout results. From time to time, we offer an extra team type game to add a little extra excitement into the day. We have an 80% Handicap skins game which is optional. During the year, we have a monthly points system based on your scoring position that concludes with payouts at the end of the year and a chance to win your next year’s dues if you are the overall winner. This is a good mix of people from all around the Bay Area that likes to get together once per month for some fun on the course.

The Phoenix Golf Club is an NCGA Associate Club for men and women living throughout the Bay Area, with indexes ranging from 7 to 38.  The club’s mission is to provide a venue for friendly competition and most importantly, to have fun.  We play monthly tournaments, typically on Sundays, at courses throughout the Bay Area including the Monterey Peninsula and Central Valley. We have an annual road trip tournament in Reno (September) and if the price is right, in Napa (November). Our format is full net handicap. We have monthly competitions with net skins, scratch skins and closest to the pin. We are seeking new members who would like to participate in a fun and competitive tournament golf experience.

The Pleasanton Golf Club, founded in 1991, is an NCGA Associate Club for men, women and juniors living throughout the Bay Area, who have the common goals of learning, recreation and friendly competition. Its 24 tournaments are open to members and guests and are played at the fine public and semi-private courses from Brentwood to Monterey. A yearly 3/4 day golf vacation is organized with such destinations as Reno, Tahoe, Sacramento and San Diego. Competitions are flighted so that golfers compete against players of similar skill level. A club match play competition is held in the summer and the club championship is held in the fall.

The PricewaterhouseCoopers SF Golf Club was created for employees, alumni, and clients of PwC, along with anyone else interested in the game of golf, to join the NCGA, track their handicap, and take advantage of the great golf opportunities in Northern California.  The club generally plans 2-4 tournaments each year, making sure to take advantage of member discounts at the Poppy Hills and Poppy Ridge courses.  While our members span all of Northern California, we primarily play courses in the Bay Area.

Rasta Cruz Golf Club

The Rasta Cruz Golf Club, founded in 1993, is an NCGA Associate Club for men living throughout the Bay Area, with indexes ranging from 2 to 24.  The club’s mission is to provide a venue for friendly competition, give members access to a broad variety of tracks and most importantly to have fun.  We play monthly tournaments at courses from the North Bay to the Monterey Peninsula, March – October.  Every event is a different format, and we have two road trip tournaments per year, one to Palm Springs and another that rotates between Scottsdale, Tahoe and Sonoma. All events are part of a season-long points race that leads to our tournament players championship and also determines selection for our annual Ryder Cup event. We are seeking new members who would like to participate in a fun and competitive tournament golf experience.

Raychem Golf Club

The Raychem Golf Club is an associate club which has been ongoing for over 30 years. Our club is for everyone that enjoys a little competition and likes to have loads of fun with fellow club members. We have 11 tournaments a year from January thru November and take the month of December off. We play a different golf course every month (never playing the same course twice in a given season). Our members are from all over the Bay Area. We have members from Santa Cruz to Sacramento and everywhere in between. Rodeo GC

The Rodeo Golf Club plays 10 events per year, February through November, generally on the 2nd Sunday of the month. We play courses around the East Bay area from Santa Rosa to Brentwood to Sunol.  We have a wide range of member handicaps from 6 all the way to the high 30s. Our active members include both men and women. Our year-end tournament is in November at Franklin Canyon where we have a tournament of champions for the year’s gross and net event winners, and the annual club meeting immediately after play. Our focus is to have fun and provide an opportunity for competition. We welcome new members.

The Rusty Putters GC is a 120-member club made up of golfers from throughout the Bay Area and from all walks of life. We are an active retirement group located in Walnut Creek, although our members reside all over the East Bay. Golf is our largest activity, involving half the membership. Foursomes for regular Tuesday golf are selected randomly which ensures that members play with different players each week. Tuesday tee times are reserved for members at the newly improved Boundary Oak Golf Course. In addition to Tuesday golf, there is a Nine Hole group, a Couples group, several inter-branch tournaments, and many “Away Golf” outings throughout the year.
