AGC is a men’s-only club that plays tournaments the first Saturday of each month (Feb – Nov). We play mid to upper level courses and try to stay within a 90-minute drive of San Mateo. We hold long drive and par 3 proximity events at each tournament and track points of all players for the end of season prize party. We have about 50 members and would like to grow back to around 100. Great group of guys that range in age and ability. We currently have three separate flights within the club so that all members compete with others of roughly the same ability. We allow guests if someone wants to give us a try for a single tournament.

The Alameda Naval Air Station Golf Club was formed in 1982 by golfers that worked at the Alameda Naval Air Base. Our club welcomes all-not necessarily in the military, retired, etc. The golf club holds tournaments every month on Saturdays at various Northern California courses. All tournaments have a long drive contest (men, women and seniors) and all Par 3′s are closest to the pin with cash prizes.

AMD Golf Club

We are a mixed membership club with around 50 members catering to casual golfers of all ages and abilities. Many of our members have handicaps in the teens or twenties, but beginners and/or duffers are always welcome. Golf fun is all we care about, and we won’t bore you with meetings, social events or other non-golf activities. You can do everything, including signing up for membership or tournaments, and even make payments, online. The club holds monthly tournaments on Saturdays or Sundays at good public courses all over the Bay Area and Monterey, and we try to keep our events affordable for all, with most tournaments costing under $79 including carts and prizes. Members earn points at each tournament to qualify for one of several NCGA Associate Club tournaments – with the club subsidizing 50% of your entry fees. We also hold a few fun tournaments to encourage those who don’t prefer competitive formats. We keep our annual fees as low as possible, and we are one of the best golf club values in all of California. Although we started as a company sponsored club over 25 years ago, and many of our members are current or former employees of AMD or Spansion, we have been independent for a few years now and welcome new members.

Cherry Chase Golf Club

Cherry Chase GC is a men’s tournament golf club and one of the oldest Associate Clubs in the NCGA. We play 20 events per year on Saturdays, January-October, at a variety of courses throughout the Bay Area, including Monterey.  Our membership has a broad span of skill levels ranging from single digit to low 30s handicaps. There are no flights.  Each event has prizes for closest-to-the-pin and top finishers, as well as an optional skins competition. We regularly send about a dozen players to the NCGA Associate Club Championship each year. The Club pays for the golf fees. Points are earned throughout the year to qualify for the Club Championship playoffs, which consist of four rounds of medal and match play to determine the Club Champion.  We finish off the year with an Awards Banquet in early December, which is free to all members. Clara Senior Men’s Golf Club

We have male and female members, with handicaps ranging from 3 to high 30s. The club plays roughly 20 tournaments a year at courses on the Monterey Peninsula to Santa Rosa to Brentwood areas, starting in early March and finishing the season at the end of October. We are primarily a bunch of friends and I’m trying to provide an easy/low cost way to join the NCGA and learn more about the rules of golf and play in tournaments. We have several decent players, but many are newer players just starting to play in handicapped tournaments and we will try to create formats conducive to this mix. We play 12 times per year at 12 different courses, ranging from Monterey to Auburn and all places between. Our tournaments are held on Saturdays keeping in mind when holidays fall during the year. We have a tournament budget for the top five scores each month. We also have winners for the par 3 holes and the lowest amount of putts each month. Our normal turnout is from 12 to 20 players both men and women, so you are not waiting for hours after you finish for the payout results. From time to time, we offer an extra team type game to add a little extra excitement into the day. We have an 80% Handicap skins game which is optional. During the year, we have a monthly points system based on your scoring position that concludes with payouts at the end of the year and a chance to win your next year’s dues if you are the overall winner. This is a good mix of people from all around the Bay Area that likes to get together once per month for some fun on the course.

All events are part of a season-long points race that leads to our tournament players championship and also determines selection for our annual Ryder Cup event. Join the San Carlos Squires, one of the most enjoyable clubs on the Peninsula. The San Carlos Squires are men of all skill levels who enjoy playing golf on challenging courses throughout the Bay Area and beyond, all within about an hour drive from San Carlos. We play once a month on Sundays around 9:30 am.   for about $ 95.00 on average. Tournaments have two flights to increase your chances of winning plus ladder challenges and side bets. We have a dinner once a month to get together, have good food and drinks and discuss the great fun we had at the previous tournament. The Silicon Valley Golf Club has nearly 300 members of all different playing abilities. Our Club has members from a variety of different companies from around the Bay Area including, but not limited to; ASICSoft , Barracuda, Cognate, Cisco, Core Systems, Finisar, Intel, Juniper, Linear, & NetLogic. We are open to all golfers that want to play golf, establish a USGA handicap index, meet new friends, and have fun. We typically play 13-14 tournaments each year and play courses across the Bay Area and Monterey including Poppy Hills & Poppy Ridge, Bayonet & Black Horse, San Juan Oaks, Coyote Creek, Callippe Preserve, The Presidio, Eagle Ridge, Wente, & Eagle Vines. We send teams to NCGA best-ball and net amateur competitions. Players earn points at each event they play in with prizes awarded at our year end event. We also award the top finishers in each event with merchandise certificates to either Golfsmith or Golf Mart.
