PEBBLE BEACH – The Forebay GC foursome of Patrick Ferreira, Chris Geuder, John Cook and David Cardoza grabbed the NCGA Central Valley Zone Championship at Spyglass Hill, breaking a first round tie with runner-up Turlock GCC.
Forebay’s score of 40-under-par 248, in the format that takes the best two of four net scores per hole, defeated Turlock’s Joe Morais, Leon Harkrader, Greg Bradford and Dan Avila by two strokes. Madera Municipal was third, five stokes out of first place.
Both Forebay and Turlock qualify for the Zone Championship, to be played August 20-21 at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill.
