Livermore — Central Valley’s John Folly and Bill Seabury needed an extra hole to capture the Senior Four-Ball Net Championship Wednesday at Poppy Ridge.

Danny Gore and Timothy Margetich of Mather GC were tied with the Central Valley tandem at the end of regulation with 13-under-par 131 totals.

Wednesday’s final round started with 19 teams within five strokes of the lead. Unusually high winds produced difficult scoring conditions, making Mather GC’s move up the leaderboard via a final round 65 (low round of the day) all the more impressive.

In the end, Folly and Seabury relied on steady play and three birdies against no bogeys during their closing nine to earn a spot in the playoff and the eventual victory. Oakmont GC and Sierra Meadows Ranch GC tied for third place two strokes back.
