PEBBLE BEACH - The Oakmont GC team of Tony Kielhofer, Sean McDermott, William Salmina and John Sully fired a final-round net 18-under-par 126 to claim the NCGA North Bay Zone Championship at Spyglass Hill, in the format that takes the best two of four scores per hole.
Healdsburg finished two-strokes behind at 32-under-par 256 for the tournament. The team of Larry Corso, Ed Gokan, Martin Hamberg and Tim Keegan scored a 17-under-par in the final round to edge out Vintner’s GC, who finished in third at 260.
Oakmont and Healdsburg will advance to the NCGA Zone Championship to be played at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill on August 25-26.
Overall winners: Oakmont GC team of Tony
Kielhofer, Sean McDermott, William Salmina
and John Sully.
Runners-up: Healdsburg GC team of Larry Corso,
