PEBBLE BEACH – The Plumas Pines team of Doyle Blaylock, Frank Brunelli, Winston Giles and Larry Walker fired a final-round gem of net 21-under-par to claim the NCGA North Sierra Zone Championship at Poppy Hills.
The team finished at 32-under-par 256 to nab the title by one stroke, in the format that takes the best two of four net scores per hole.
McCloud’s Joe Bambino, James Clark, John Gut and Bill Michelon managed a team score of 17-under-par today to finish in runner-up place at 257 and secure themselves a spot in the finals.
Both teams will advance to the NCGA Zone Championship to be held at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill on August 25-26.
Champions: Plumas Pines team of Doyle Blaylock, Frank Brunelli, Winston Giles and Larry Walker.
Runner-up team: McCloud’s Joe Bambino, James Clark, John Gut and Bill Michelon.
