PEBBLE BEACH – The Plumas Lake GCC team of Tommy Ford, R. F. Martin, Jim Whisman and Ron Yoshimura fired a two-round net 38-under-par 250 to win the North Valley Zone Championship.
Plumas Lake secured the title with a final-round net 127 at Spyglass Hill to win by two strokes, in the format that takes the best two net scores of four on each hole.
The Nevada County GC team of David Aldrich Jr., David Aldrich Sr., Jake Jacus and Ken Miele came from behind, with a 19-under-par final-round to grab the second place spot with a 36-under-par 252 total.
Plumas Lake and Nevada County will advance to the Zone Championship to be played at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill on August 25-26.
Overall Winners: Plumas Lake GCC team of Tommy Ford,
R. F. Martin, Jim Whisman and Ron Yoshimura.
Runners-up: Nevada County GC team of David Aldrich Jr.,
