PEBBLE BEACH - The Valley Hi team held onto their first-round lead to win by one stroke at Spyglass Hill and capture the NCGA Sacramento Zone Championship. The foursome of Dennis Arnal, Jim Cover, Jim Drazenovich and Dennis Froehler shot a total net 41-under-par in the format that takes the best two of four scores per hole.
One stroke back, the team of Greg Pantages, Tom Straub, Edward Modeste and Randall Brown from William Land Park GC secured second place with an impressive final round score of 19-under-par.
Valley Hi and William Land now advance to the NCGA Zone Championship to be played at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill on August 25-26.
