PEBBLE BEACH - The Pasatiempo GC team of Robert Davies, William Leunis, Tony Nelson and Dennis Ventry claimed the NCGA South Bay Zone Championship at Poppy Hills with a net 18-under-par 126 in the final round.
Pasatiempo finished with a three stroke buffer over Cinnabar Hills and San Juan Oaks who tied for second place at 258.
Cinnabar Hills shot an impressive net 20-under-par on the final day to force a playoff, in the format that takes the best two of four scores on each hole. The Cinnabar Hills team of Tom Cook, Oscar Baranchuk, John Hackett and David Young went on to win the playoff over San Juan Oaks and take the second place spot.
The Pasatiempo and Cinnabar teams qualified for the NCGA Zone Championship at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill on August 25-26, 2008.
