PEBBLE BEACH – The Selma Valley GC team of Robert Chavez, Juan Gonzalez, Alfonso Ramos and Tony Ramos held onto its first-round lead to grab the NCGA South Valley Championship at Spyglass Hill.
Selma Valley fired a 26-under-par net 262, in format that takes the best two of four scores per hole, to win by two shots.
Riverbend’s Jack Hovanessian, Jeff Johnston, Anthony Ross and Hilary Ross finished second while Fresno Airways and Three Rivers finished third, three strokes back of the champions.
Selma Valley and Riverbend advance to the Zone Championship to be played at Poppy Hills and Spyglass Hill August 25-26.
