Without proper planning, dealing with effects of a drought can be a very difficult process for golf courses. By developing a drought contingency plan, Golf Course Superintendents will be able to provide Club/Course officials with a document to address impending restrictions of water supplies and propose how the golf course will adapt to drought conditions.
This document(link below) will serve as a template for creating a drought contingency plan for your facility. The document may be modified as maintenance practices or course conditions evolve over time. It is strongly recommended that your facility officially adopt the plan when it is finalized.
Please have copies of the plan available in multiple sites throughout the property for reference should the original be lost or accidently destroyed.
